Job Description
Clemenger BBDO Australia is looking for an established Payroll professional to join our finance team in Melbourne as the Senior Payroll Officer for 4 well known agencies.
This is a freelance role to start ASAP.
About the Role
To be successful in this role you will bring your payroll expertise, financial best practices and knowledge of process and experience. You will also be comfortable liaising with business leaders to provide guidance and advice for any payroll related questions or concerns.
You will be covering 300 staff in both our Melbourne and Sydney offices, and show the following approach to your work:

Responsibilities
- Assist the Payroll Manager with monthly payroll cycles (permanent) and fortnightly payroll cycles (freelancers).
- Assist the Payroll Manager with payroll tax lodgments.
- Capture, review and check all payroll data prior to submission for processing.
- Maintain payroll data integrity by ensuring all changes are properly documented and approved.
- Be the first point of contact for payroll-related enquiries from staff.
- Assist Payroll Manager with end-of-month/year processes and payroll-related improvements.
- Maintain accurate payroll data, benefits, deductions, and legislative compliance across all payroll processes.
- Assist with internal and external audit.
- Assist finance team with annual leave, sick leave & long service leave reconciliations (timesheets vs payroll system).
About you
- You are a confident payroll professional with strong attention to detail and a proactive approach to problem solving.
- You bring solid experience in payroll in a complex business environment and are comfortable working across multiple stakeholders.
- Strong knowledge of Australian payroll legislation and payroll systems is essential.
- Minimum 5 years' experience.
- Intermediate excel skills (able to do v-look ups, pivot tables)
- Attention to detail, must have the ability to identify and solve issues
- Communication skills must be clear and concise
- Experienced in processing multi-state payroll
- ADP GlobalView experience is ideal
